No Confidence Interviews

The piece published on Wednesday about the symbolic vote of no confidence that involved the Mount Allison Faculty Council combined separate interviews with VP Administration David Stewart and Drs. Mike Fox, Fiona Black, and Andrew Irwin. Here are the compete interviews published separately:

No Confidence: A Story of Turmoil At Mount Allison

Boardwalk Radio discussed the story of the April 3rd events at (or after) the Faculty Council meeting. The Faculty Council is a group of faculty, administrators, and students that functions in an advisory capacity to Senate. After a motion for a vote of no confidence in the Drs. Robert Campbell (President) and Karen Grant (Provost), Dr. Campbell adjourned the meeting as chair of the Faculty Council. Faculty stayed behind and held a symbolic vote.

Boardwalk met with Drs. Andrew Irwin, Mike Fox, and Fiona Black representing faculty and Vice-President Administration  David Stewart representing administration. Each side was asked similar questions, and the combined interview is below. Some topics discussed are: What was the proposed motion? Was it defamatory? Is there an issue of transparency regarding daily governance at Mount Allison? Is daily governance discussed at binding arbitration? How can Mount Allison move forward? Sex and Sexuality: A Workshop on Pornography

I spoke with Psychology department lecturers Lisa Dawn Hamilton and Sarah Vannier about their research. They specialize in human sexuality, gender, and the role of pornography in the lives of men and women. They will present a workshop on April 9th on the topic of pornography addiction and positive sex education. Groups Around Sackville – Get Involved

Sackville is a crazy and happening place. There are several groups flourishing around town, such as Tinker Studio, Bagtown Babblers Toastmasters’ Club, and the Art Association. Tinker Studio offers fun and creative extra-curricular activities to children in Sackville. The Toastmasters’ Club will improve your public speaking, and the Art Association offers members the opportunity to improve one’s art skills through a variety of classes and workshops! Art in Sackville: Kyle Whitehead

Kyle Whitehead is the new artist in residence at Struts’ Gallery. He stopped by CHMA to discuss his plans for the residency and his upcoming artist talk. Kyle’s lifetime project involves double exposure on film, where two unrelated films are exposed to each other.
