The Closure of the Morgentaler Abortion Clinic in Fredericton

Earlier this month, the Morgentaler Clinic in Fredericton – one of five in Canada – announced that it would close its doors during the summer due to lack of funding. To better understand the issue, Boardwalk Radio spoke with Mount Allison professors Tasia Alexopoulos and Elaine Naylor about abortion accessibility in New Brunswick.

Local Governance in Sackville

Sackville is run by Town Council, which includes Robert Berry as mayor. Boardwalk Radio investigated how town council functions in Sackville last Friday. As part of this ongoing investigation, councilor Bill Evans will be interviewed on Boardwalk every Tuesday about town council functions. Here’s a sampling of interviews on local governance:

Earth Day in Sackville

On April 26th, Sackville will host a series of exciting family events as part of Earth Day. This year, the Tantramar Alliance Against Hydrofracking, EOS Eco-Energy, and the Tantramar Family Resource Center will co-sponsor the event. Some of the events will include a family walk in Waterfowl Park, a locally produced trade fair, and a Voice of the People presentation on alternatives to shale gas. The End of Kyle Whitehead’s Residency in Sackville

Kyle Whitehead has been working in Sackville for the past month on his lifetime project involving double exposure on film, in which two unrelated films are exposed to each other. This project has been hugely successful during his time in Sackville, as Kyle has had 10 different participants add film to his project! Listen to Boardwalk’s interview with Kyle here:
