Dr. Christl Verduyn won the Herbert and Leota Tucker Teaching Award, given to honour the top teacher at Mount Allison. Dr. Verduyn is passionate about learning outside of the classroom, and she offers social engagement and small-group learning as important foundations in her educational style.
SappyForever is a coffee table book released by SappyFest and purchased by so many of you Sackville – ites (Sackvillians?). On Saturday, Jon Mckiel, Julie Doiron, Lucas Hicks, and Shotgun Jimmie played at Your Jazz Guys as part of a book release tour. Boardwalk Radio spoke with Jim.
Sackville has a Shambhala Meditation Group that meets every Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM at the University Club on Mount Allison campus. Vallie Stearns, a member of the group, spoke with Boardwalk Radio about the group, her experience with meditation, and Shambhala in general:

Max Grizzly and the Entertainment, the recent winner of the 2014 ASCAR Band of the Year, is releasing its first EP on May 10th at 10 PM in Sackville. The show will take place at the Sackville Music Hall. Mark Leblanc, the handomest member and rhythm guitar player, spoke with Boardwalk about the recent award, the upcoming EP, and the good feelings Max Grizzly gives when performing. Listen below!
Earlier this month, the Morgentaler Clinic in Fredericton – one of five in Canada – announced that it would close its doors during the summer due to lack of funding. To better understand the issue, Boardwalk Radio spoke with Mount Allison professors Tasia Alexopoulos and Elaine Naylor about abortion accessibility in New Brunswick.
